Digging a Grave

You weren't there to bury the remains.
too busy with the booze and the boys
while I shoveled all night
burying something I didn't even want
hospital bills down the drain
vomit from your late night escapades circling the drain
hoping my lips will offer you enough condolences
wishing I could scream until I'm blue in the face from what we've lost
your friends hoping I'd just die from asphyxiation
